How do I find if any item sold on ebay is stolen property?

I bought a Treo 650 Verizon on ebay and now I am wondering if it is stolen. Is there a place I can go to check the serial number or something like that?

3. Truth has it that EBAY is a great way for thieves to make good money from stolen property. Where a pawn shop will only bring 25 cents on the dollar, Ebay brings as high as 100% of somethings value, So there are a lot of stolen items for sale on Ebay, but if you don't buy it, someone else will. Karma and God will deal with the thiefs.
