Have any lawyers successfully defended anyone who refuses to pay taxes? I've heard that it's against the constitution to pay taxes, yet we all do because we don't want to go to jail. I've heard that we don't even have to pay taxes. Can anyone teach me about this?

  1. The Constitution says that their will be no Federal militias or police forces. The Federal Government has dozens of police forces today. The Constitution says illegal search and seizure will not occur. Today the police can stop and search you for no reason with the Supreme Courts' blessing. The Constitution says people will not be held prisoner without charges. We all know that this is going on today. The Constitution says there will not be cruel and unusual punishment. We all know that torture is going on today. The Government just calls it something different. The Constitution is just a piece of paper this regime is not following any more.
  2. A few lawyers have gotten people out of criminal charges using a defense similar to "...my client is too stupid to know that he had to pay ...." or "....my client honestly believed that he didn't have to pay...." but those are few and far between. Keep in mind though, that even though some tax protesters have kept themselves out of jail they always end up having to pay the taxes (plus penalties and interest). No lawyer can stop that because is there is an income tax law on the books. It is called "Title 26 - Internal Revenue Code". Look it up. Most tax protesters, in the long run, end up broke and alone. File your returns and pay your taxes. You will be much happier in the long run.
  3. No. It's not "against the Constitution." You must file and pay all taxes that the Internal Revenue Code requires you to pay. Thousands are in jail today because they were gullible enough to buy into the fairy tales of "tax protesters" and "asset protection" consultants. Don't you be one of them.
  4. There are some people, called tax protesters, who insist on claiming that income taxes are unconstitutional. They've lost that argument every time it's been heard. There have been cases when people have been found not guilty of DELIBERATEly disobeying tax laws - they've still had to pay or have had their assets seized, but haven't had to go to prison for tax evasion.
  5. Some tax protesters have beaten criminal charges because the government did not have a strong enough case to convince a jury that the person was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt but when it gets to the civil stage, IRS is batting 1,000. A claim that you don't have to pay taxes is ludicrous, contradictory on its face. Whatever the tax is it is imposed on the people required to pay it and is not optional.
