Why do lawyers tend to wear large cowboy or outback hats?

I see it all the time on the train. A middle-aged man with a trench coat, man purse, and a huge floppy (and expensive) looking hat. The hats look like they should be worn by Indiana Jones or Crocodile Dundee. Next thing you know they are on their cell phones loudly talking shop so you know they're lawyers. What's with the hats?

Public Comments

  1. Because they think it makes their half inchers double in size.
  2. Because they are outlaws?
  3. Where do you live? Texas? I have never seen a lawyer in the outfit you described and I can bet you I have seen a lot more lawyers than you.
