Intellectual Property Law

Does intellectual property have to be registered in order for it to be enforceable?.?

Is their a way to check if a certain product or information is registered with intellectual property rights?. well I bought a package online from some guy on a forum it included links to other public websites and information on how to obtain more information from public records. He made this information into a package and sold it on his site. I bought it and i sold it on ebay. Nowhere in the package or on the site is it implied that he has intellectual proprty rights. Is their a way to find out if he copyrighted it? if he didnt can he still sue me?

Public Comments

  1. depending on the potential of the product, yes, a copyright/patent would have to be filed ASAP to claim said rights
  2. For what reasons? Is it a copyright issue look at the CR office. All property whether tangible or not is covered legally for any issues with manufacture, etc. Much more info is needed. www.all-about-britain.com
  3. Go to copyright.gov
