violation of intellectual property?
is it applied if i insert comments found from other sites acknowledging that site after or before that comment? do i have to obtain proper permission directly from that site since i have already mentioned that i've obtained that info/comment from that particular site (including inserting a link to that site) ? Will I be charged of violation of intellectual property this way?
Public Comments
- As long as you are properly citing the site, you should be fine. You are giving credit that the idea or phrase were not your own. You are not stealing it- as long as you cited where you got the information.
- You must have the permission of the owner of the information. Merely providing a link is not always sufficient.
- All depends on the site policy. If that comment or information was considered for public, mentioning the site address is good enough; if those information is only for member grade, then you may have problem.
- books and other publically available materials aree copyrighted but you can certainly quote from them provided you give due credit. footnotes are required for all direct quotes. and a bibliography should contain all the sources used for general reference
