Lawyers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

i talked with a lawyer about my car accident case (airbag product liability case). He said i won't have to pay anything until after the case is won. I can't afford to pay unless i win the case. What can i do to make sure theres no hidden fees and make sure i won't have to pay anything unless the case is won? If we lose the case will i have to pay anything?

  1. Just make sure you actually read the contract he gives you to sign. Lawyers who work on contingency like that usually have pretty straightforward retainer agreements, so you'll know what you have to pay if you lose -- and then, it's usually just costs like mailing and court fees. In the event that you lose and have to pay those costs, I'm sure they can work with you on a payment plan, but the lawyer will be able to answer all of your questions (and don't hire him if he can't).
  2. Why do lawsuit lotto seeking sleazeballs blame others and want to be paid, and want no accountability for themselves? Try reading the lawyer agreement, genius. How are we supposed to know what idiotic arrangement you signed yourself into?
  3. Typically, the fees charged by the Attorney is 33 1/3 percent of your monetary award. They don't take out extra fees for office expenses etc. There's no taxes taken out of your settlement and you don't owe taxes either. So for example if you settled for $60,000, your Attorney would get about $18,000 and the rest you get. Be prepared to wait at least a year before anything is settled. I had been hit by a drunk driver at 7 am. He hit 5 other cars and injured 3 people including myself and a pregnant woman. Good luck to you
