Lawyers???
I'm interested in becoming a lawyer after high school. I'm currently a sophomore, make all A's, and am ranked in the top 10% of my class at one of the top 100 public schools in the U.S. For my undergrad, I'd like to go to Rice University and study either psychology or political science. I haven't decided what law school I want to go to, but my dream school would definitely be Columbia. What does it take to be a lawyer? What is the job like? Would you recommend the profession? What is the job market like? What are the hours / qualifications / benefits? Is it worth it in the long run? The other career I'm interested in is psychology, but you need a PhD to get anywhere with it, and it's such a competitive market. Please help!! <3

- Legal profession is green perinneally provided you work hard and develop necessary traits, connections and become good in marketing your skills. First become a lawyer by passing the exams, then specialize in some field of interest (like civil, criminal, service, labor, etc); or do PG followed by a Ph.D to become a Law Professor. You can become a Judge also. OR serve in a big company in their legal department or be a consultant for companies....sky is the limit. Technologies may change, companies may become insolvent, yet the Lawyer survives permanently!
- ok the advice above me is so wrong. written by a know nothing about the law. the legal field is not very good right now. to many lawyers not enough jobs. if u can get into columbia you can make 160K a year but if u get into law school at rice u will make 40K a year. so it is not that good of a professionl
