Lawyers???

Hi, I am pretty much done with my immigration forms ( I just got married with an American citizen) and I need a lawyer to check my forms and to make sure that everything is all right. I DON'T WANT a lawyer to make all the process, but just to read my forms and tell me that everything is fine. Do you think I can find this kind of lawyer? I live in Charlotte, NC. Thanks...

1. No lawyer will do what you want. Before an immigration attorney will "approve" your forms he'll need to get all the information about you and your spouse. Essentially, he'll have to do everything he normally does when he prepares the forms and charge you the same fee, so you'll save nothing. An attorney that simply looked over the forms, approved, and gave them back to you would be guilty negligence, and perhaps malpractice, in the event something was wrong. It's like getting a second opinion from a doctor. He won't do it without his own complete examination. There are plenty of attorneys in Charlotte that practice immigration law. Just don't hire Nick Mackey.
2. yes, you can find that kind of lawyer. legal aid had them and they are reall inexpensive, if not free. it is a great organization!!! MOST lawyers are rotten, but not these people. they reall really care
3. I think your better off trying to find a non-profit organization that helps people fill out immigration forms have them checked. Catholic charities comes to mind since they're everywhere.
