British Law Schools & Australian Law Schools. Which should I choose?
I have offers to read law (at undergraduate level) from both British and Australian Law Schools. I intend to practice Law in Asia (places like Singapore & Hong Kong). The offers from the Australian Law schs are for double degrees in Law & Economics. Where's the best place to go to read law-- Britain or Australia? Law schools in question: British Law Schs: Nottingham, Durham & Warwick Australian Law Schs: Australian National University University of New South Wales I would really like to hear from lawyers, law students or anyone familiar with Law in both countries. I would also appreciate any official rankings of any sort with regards to Law-- to facilitate comparison between these law schools. I am more interested in the academic standing and quality of education, rather than the specific location, facilities or cost. Serious answers only please. Thank you so much!

- I THINK LAW SCHOOL!
- G'day, There are only 39 universities in Australia and they are tightly regulated, therefore the quality and recognition of their graduates are equal from wherever university you are studying from. There are no rankings in Australian universities. There are plenty of organisations who try to create a ranking of universities around the world, but most of them are based on the research achievements and government fundings. None of them are recognised by the Australian government. The 2 Australian universities that you have been offered a place are the most favorite universities in Australia. UNSW has the highest number of international students studying in it's campus in Australia. However as I previously mentioned, the quality of material and recognition are all the same. I know you do not care abt location, since I assume you've visited both Sydney and Canberra anyway, but this may play a role as well to choose between the 2 uni. Canberra is smaller than Sydney and therefore quieter. Now... some Asian students who come to study and live in Sydney complain that it is too quiet and boring for them. However, if you the kind of person who doesn't mind quietness, then you should not have a problem at all. Hope this helps. E-mail me at mikegun@studentfirst.com.au if you have any further questions abt studying in Australia. Good luck for your study :)
