- You've been arrested twice for stealing, you deserve to go to jail. Stop whining and take your medicine.
- What you did is called "theft by conversion". You are looking at 2 years, if they prosecute. Now would be a good time to start begging for mercy.
- too late its not your card, your a thief, and will be delt with according to criminal law,,, it a simple law, if its not your ,dont touch it,, all thieves need to be removed from this planet
- Guilty!.
- Unlike the last guy, I had my share of run-ins with the law growing up and took until about the time I was 18 to straighten my life up. Here is what I will tell you. You need a lawyer, and you need a good one. I don't personally see a way to get a not guilty ruling on this one. I don't know what state you live in, but some states the sentencing can take into account past criminal history, and some states they take into account just the crime. So in my opinion you're looking at either a small fine ($50-$100) and 20-50 hours of community service. Or you're looking at about a week or two of jail time. Basically you need a lawyer who can either find a technicality to get you off on or to help you get a reduced sentence. You haven't given much background on the case but from what I know this is what will happen. The prosecuter will probably call the arresting officer to testify that they caught you with this card and you used it to illegally purchase the juice. They will of course most likely add the reciept/record of the purchase into evidence. The defendent (you/your lawyer) will then be allowed to make your case. All in all bud, if you were still in high school most juvenile judges would let you off relatively scot-free, but you're in college and if the judge sees your previous larceny he will most likely feel that you need to learn your lesson. I don't know how you possibly ended up getting caught, but obviously your luck isn't too good. My advice stick to the straight and narrow. Karma works friend, my life has turned around since I dropped the petty crimes.
- Always amazes me that people are willing to screw up their entire life for something cheap. I suspect you will be fined. The real problem for you is a criminal record you get to be burdened with for the rest of your life.
